Are Doña Ana County Jail Mugshots Public?
No New Mexico statute was found that requires every jail to publish booking photos online. The controlling access framework is the Inspection of Public Records Act, with exceptions and redactions for protected records. Booking photos and arrest records may be public records when held by a public body, but release can depend on juvenile status, sealed or expunged records, protected identifiers, active-investigation limits, court orders, and safety or privacy exceptions.

How Long Mugshots Stay Online
The official county roster labels itself current, and the county did not publish a visible retention rule for released inmates or booking photos. That means a photo should be treated as available only while the public profile remains posted. A missing photo can mean the person was released, transferred, restricted, removed from the current roster, placed in a protected category, or never listed in the adult public roster.
Because retention timing was not located in official county material, avoid using the roster as an archive. Capture the booking number, court case, and roster timestamp if the record is needed for later comparison. For case outcome, use New Mexico court records, because the mugshot and booking charge do not show whether a charge was amended, dismissed, reduced, or resolved by conviction.
What is and is not public: Adult booking profiles may show a mugshot and charge fields. Juvenile records, medical data, victim information, full narratives, and protected identifiers are not ordinary public roster fields.
Request a Doña Ana County Booking Photo

The county states that written requests should include the requester’s name, address, telephone number, and a description of the requested records. Mugshot Removal and Expungement
Doña Ana County did not publish a separate mugshot-removal program in the researched pages. State prison records are also separate. A person at Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility should be searched through NMCD, not the county mugshot roster. State custody can follow the same arrest, but it uses a different agency, number, facility record, and visitation process.
